## Who we are

**Terrible Turtle Camp** · Burning Man 2026 · founded around **Jeremy Wood**, built by **Shaka** (the Ethereum Bard) + crew. HQ is **Phoenix Gulch, Boulder CO** — itself a land-restoration project (water terraces, drought-tolerant trees, native grasses). Leaving No Trace starts at home.

**Motto:** Move Slow & Bite Things 🐢

Route: Boulder → Black Rock City in a 1998 International 4700 box truck ("the Turtle Truck," being painted as a turtle) + a 51' moving-van semi trailer ("The Long Migration").

## What we're gifting

- **🍳 Kitchen** — old trailer → full camp kitchen. Strategy shift (July): pre-cooked FROZEN meals, boil-in-bag reheating. 2× Backyard Pro dual propane burners (~300k BTU/hr), 3 fridges + chest freezer, 2-compartment sink, stainless prep tables, e-track everything.
- **🎪 The Shell (shade)** — Aluminet: 52×52 roofs + 52×8.5 walls; 4×4 posts, forged eye bolts, aircraft cable. Dormitory shade "The Himalayas" (68'×122') anchored by the semi.
- **🚿 Shower** — two 275-gal IBC totes at 90° in an L, sitting on galvanized cattle troughs; float switches, sump pump, gravity solar bags. **First water ran 7/28** ("that's a shower right there" 🎉).
- **💧 Water** — 2–3 gal/person/day → 634–951 gal total. IBC → pressure pump → splitter w/ ball valves → kitchen + fill station. Filled on-playa by Jeff Temmin.
- **🔮 AI Oracle Tent** — interactive AI experience gifted to passersby (3 tents planned).
- **🎵 Open Source Orchestra** — permissionless instruments + jams. opensourceorchestra.org.
- **🥶 The Veggie Coffin** — plywood cold box, glued & screwed, AC-cooled, for produce.

## The open-source heart

Turtle Ops is **CC0 open source** — github.com/shakaleikaumaka/turtle-ops — any camp can fork the playbooks, packing lists, runbooks, and the Camp Assistant agent kit (Kit 2.2). THE SHELLPIT is the **8th fork**: the build footage + story → a P.I.T. instance, the Burning Man P.I.T., a gift to the playa.
